Freediving 2

Deepen your freediving! This class prepares you with the safety knowledge and techniques to freedive up to 100 feet.

Location
The class takes place at Lake Berryessa, a warm sunny lake in the middle of wine country, about an hour's drive north of the Bay. On Google Maps, you can find our spot listed as the Freedive Studio, and the GPS coordinates of the parking lot are: 38.509385, -122.112025.

Timing
The class runs on Sundays, from 9am - 2pm. Detailed schedule:

• 9am: Meet in the parking lot, briefing, walk down together.
• 9:30 - 10:30am: Land class.
• 10:30am - 12pm: Water class 1.
• 12:30-2pm: Water class 2
• 3-4pm (optional): Lunch at the Berryessa Gap winery down the road.

Who should take this class?
This class is designed for certified freedivers who want to learn the safety knowledge and techniques to freedive up to 100 feet. In AIDA's terms, it is an AIDA 2-3 level class. If you are an advanced freediver (at the AIDA 4 level), you will have covered the material in this class already. If you are not a certified freediver yet, this class will be too advanced and you must take Freediving 1 first. The prerequisite for the class is a certification from any major agency.

What does the class cover?
Topics include: 

• Freefall: positioning your head and body for a perfect glide
• Neutral buoyancy
• Barotrauma and how to avoid it
• Shallow Water Blackout
• Deep Buddying: timing your dive, positioning, and when to intervene
• Surface safety, calling touchdown, and managing a buoy

On successful completion of the class you are eligible for AIDA 2 or AIDA 3 Depth certification. All AIDA materials and certification fees are included. 

Depth Training Season Pass
When you book this class, you also get unlimited access to our regular Sunday depth trainings for the rest of the year. The class is an intense learning experience and it pairs best with a sustained period of practice afterwards, to build your body's understanding of what your conscious mind has learned.

Rescheduling and refunds
You can cancel for a full refund up until 24 hours before the start of class, subject to the 2.9% payment processing fee charged by our payment processing provider, and reschedule at no charge up until 24 hours before the start of class. After 24 hours before the start of class, you cannot cancel or reschedule for any reason either medical (surgery, covid, injury, etc) or non-medical (moving, etc).
