Freediving 2

Deepen your freediving! This class prepares you with the safety knowledge and techniques to freedive up to 100 feet.

Location
The class takes place at Lake Berryessa, a warm sunny lake about an hour's drive north of the Bay.

Timing
The class runs on Sundays, from 9am - 3pm. Detailed schedule:

• 9-11am: Land class at the Berryessa Gap winery next to the lake.
• 11-11:30am: Drive to the lake (15 mins) and walk down together. 
• 12-3pm: Water class.
• 4pm (optional): Lunch back at the Berryessa Gap winery
  

Who should take this class?
This class is designed for certified freedivers who want to learn the safety knowledge and techniques to freedive up to 100 feet. In AIDA's terms, it is an AIDA 2-3 level class. The prerequisite for the class is a certification from any freediving agency.

What does the class cover?
Topics include: 

• Freefall: positioning your head and body for a perfect glide
• Setting your neutral buoyancy
• Barotrauma and how to avoid it
• Shallow Water Blackout
• Surface Buddying: checking the lanyard, managing the line, and calling touchdown
• Deep Buddying: timing your dive, positioning, and when to intervene

+ Unlimited Depth Training
Included with this class is unlimited access to our regular Sunday depth trainings for the rest of the year. The class is an intense learning experience and it pairs best with a sustained period of practice afterwards, to build your body's mastery of what your mind has learned.

+ Certification
This class also comes with evaluation for one of AIDA's advanced depth certification levels - 2 or 3 - at no extra charge. You can take some or all of the tests during class at your own pace. There is no pressure to pass all the tests during class - you can complete any that you don't finish during subsequent depth training sessions too.

Rescheduling and refunds
You can cancel for a full refund up until 24 hours before the start of class, subject to the 2.9% payment processing fee charged by our payment processing provider, and reschedule at no charge up until 24 hours before the start of class. After 24 hours before the start of class, you cannot cancel or reschedule for any reason either medical (surgery, covid, injury, etc) or non-medical (moving, etc).
